List of Services
The Richland Voluntary Council on Aging is dedicated to providing comprehensive services for seniors in our community. Our list of services is extensive and designed to meet the diverse needs of older adults.
We offer advocacy services, taking action on behalf of seniors to ensure they receive the services and benefits they are entitled to.
Our assessment and screening services gather vital information to determine eligibility for various programs, including health screenings.
In addition, our Helping Hands Emergency program provides utility assistance to low-income seniors, while our homemaker services offer support with light housekeeping tasks for those who are unable to perform them independently.
We also provide information and assistance, connecting individuals to relevant community resources. Our legal assistance program offers free legal advice, counseling, and representation through the Volunteer Lawyers Project.
Seniors in need of medical equipment can access our loan closet, which offers items such as walkers, crutches, and wheelchairs.
Nutrition services are another vital component of our offerings, with a congregate meal site available at the Rayville Senior Center and home-delivered meals for those who are homebound.
We prioritize social interaction and offer various recreational activities, both individually and in group settings.
For safety and peace of mind, we provide emergency telephone units through the ACADIAN ON CALL program. Medical transportation within the city limits of Rayville is also available.
Our wellness activities focus on improving both mental and physical well-being through exercises and other supportive activities.
Lastly, we understand the importance of staying cool during summer months, and therefore have fans available for senior citizens who are unable to afford an air conditioner or the electricity to run one.
At the Richland Voluntary Council on Aging, we strive to enhance the lives of seniors by offering a diverse range of services tailored to their unique needs.
